My One Word

by mommakristi on January 2, 2012

I realized that after my bad attitude of 2011 that 2012 needed to be different.  I wasn’t sure how but I knew why…I needed an attitude adjustment.

Last year I read this book, it inspired me but I didn’t let it infiltrate my life.

This year- Gratitude will be my life.  I’m going to count gifts, for me and my family.  I decided to track my gifts in a scrapbook style book of gratitude and I’ll be sharing it throughout the year.

Click the photo to take you to see more about the book.

I’m not affiliated with the author in any way- other than indebted to her for changing my focus.  I just want the same for you, that’s why I share the book.

And how this is changing my life-

when God works wonders, I will count the gifts,

when God stays silent, I will count the gifts,

when I question where God is, I will count the gifts.

Believe me, I’m no PollyAnna, this isn’t about being naive knowing it will all be okay.  It’s more than that, it’s believing that God works in all things.

If you haven’t found your ONE WORD yet, I do hope you will.  If you have one, I’d love to hear it.

If you’d like to join me in counting gifts, you can download a free app (link in my right sidebar).

Then you can see things like this come up on your phone:

I think I’m gonna like this gratitude thing!!

So, what’s  your one word?  Are you starting a revolution?

Wonderful! And a great way to start the New Year. I have been counting my gifts now for a bit. Some days, when I don’t journal them every day, I really have to dig to “see” them. I have yet to finish the book. It’s not an easy read for me. I keep wanting to go back and sip and savor. Looking forward to watching your gifts unfold!

That book has been life transforming for me. I am past a thousand and hope to continue counting, even when I see Him face to face.
