I mentioned last week that I was making some changes in my eating habits. Well, I’m pleased to say I’ve been “flirting with Paleo” for a week now, and I feel great!!!
I’m hesitant to say that I’m “going paleo” because there are so many rules or types of foods to eat, I don’t want to get hung up on those. “Can I eat this?” or “Is such and such Paleo?” I’m already driving myself crazy with those questions.
So here is what I’ve been doing…eating vegetables and meat, some fats and fruit. I’ve been cutting out dairy, sugar and grains. And honestly I haven’t missed them!! Of 21 meals and snacks I ate last week, I had one non paleo meal. We went out for dinner for date night and I ate a sensible dinner, but allowed myself to have chips, fajitas, and dessert. I have decided by “flirting with paleo” I am making sensible decisions…avoiding the foods that don’t make me feel well.
I honestly think that grains and dairy make not only my stomach hurt but add to my achiness. I do hope that this eating style will result in weight loss, but my biggest concern is better living!!!
I did lots of studying about this – in fact- so much that I kept waiting around and not trying it until I had all my information. Finally I decided to stop waiting and start now. I had done a nutritive cleanse during Holy Week. I think that helped with the detox process. I haven’t had horrible cravings or headaches!!!
Have you heard of paleo? Have you considered it? What would you like to know about it? I have a feeling it will be a topic I talk about quite a bit!! (and hopefully sharing recipes!!)
