I know I had set a goal for myself (I may or may not have said it out loud) to have 7 boxes of stuff ready to donate to goodwill by the time possession week was upon us.
I was overzealous. I mentioned last week that I was trying to take a less legalistic approach to this 7 project and God was still working on my heart showing me what He wanted for me. We’re still in that process.
We’re also still in a process of recovery. We are having a memorial service for my dad this week. You may remember he passed away a year ago. In the last few weeks we’ve had the 1 year anniversary of his death, Father’s day, and this week a memorial service and dinner. I’m spent. I thought I was doing so great but all these things coming up so quickly have made it a little tough for me. Between that, #summerof7, and this overwhelming obsession with getting healthy, I’m overwhelmed.
So I reevaluated the goals for this week. My focus is possessions, although I’m still trying to eat local, not waste food, spend time with family, and avoid Starbucks. My actual goal for this week is to clean out my closet. I know, it doesn’t seem that big, but we have so much crap in our house, I have to start somewhere!!
Photo taken from Project Simplify, a project with Simple Mom that I did last March. Last March people!!! One would think I wouldn’t need to purge again already, but alas I do.
I’m hoping once I get my closet clean, it will build momentum into other areas (i.e. my boys closet, our basement, etc). I also have a landing zone, computer area that could, ahem, use some help and simplification.
So I’m linking up with the gals of Summer of 7 for some motivation and accountability!!
