Five years ago today, my water broke at 35 weeks. My husband tried to convince me I was just wetting my pants, there was no way this baby was coming this early.
He was wrong. It was labor.
We rushed to the hospital in the dark of the night. I sent out a few prayer request texts and came to the realization that this baby was coming.
We met the neonatal specialist, just as a precaution. My OB was convinced that the baby would be ok, but a 35 weeker did bring some concern.
My little trooper was born at 5:57am. That day I became a momma. My little man was 5 lbs 7 oz and super long. He was teeny tiny, but breathed strong on his own and didn’t need the NICU.
In the quiet of the night, I became a momma. I had a son, a little boy, and he would be the light of my life!!!
He grew like a weed. We were watched closely, being 1st time parents with a preemie. But Max did amazing!!
And now he’s five. I’m not sure where the time has gone. My little pipsqueak of a baby is now a little boy, in preschool, loving to read, with an imagination that does not quit.
Five years ago today, I became a Momma. And it may just have been the best thing to happen to me!!!
Happy Birthday Max!!! Thank you for making me a Momma!!!!

Oh my goodness– happy birthday little man!! You are an amazing creature, filled with imagination, and energy, and chaos and love. Keep growing, and challenging and changing, but most of all keep seeing the wonder and beauty of life, knowing it all comes from God!
